Maybe I'm missing something here, but if a vehicle comes out with an ECU update from the manufacturer, then why not just update it? Are these updates addressing specific problems on specific cars? In other words, its very unlike a phone software update? Will my car produce a whole host of other problems with an "unnecessary" update? I generally have a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude", but this issue bothers me.
