Hey all,

I just bought a 64 GB San Disk Cruzer Fit Flash drive and formatted it with FAT 32 and copied about 15 GB worth of music to it and now the unit won't read it. Any ideas as to why? Does it support 64 GB partitions on the flash drive?

Just the other day someone was explaining, that a too high gb can work against us, not sure about these things myself, but I don't get a read out on mine, would be nice but I can live without it, as long as I hear the music.

I've had radio stations that show a read out, which is cool, but I don't like it drawing me away from the road. But, it still should have been programed to work with the info.

But, it does sound like you're on the right track, no pun intended(maybe as an after-thought).

Don't waste your time with anything over 8gig, the headunit will only read so much information on the flashdrive anyways depending on the year. However, there are ways around this, the link previously provided should explain further..

That link won't work for my tapatalk app btw man lol takes me to the dinosaur thread. Anyways, it has something to do with a power issue, but you can't have a crazy amount of files, however, you can do what I did and create crazy hour or so long playlists and store them on your flashdrive. Not exactly sure what you're going after but there are diy threads and such relating to this issue

The 64 GB Flash Drive worked in case anyone was wondering. The windows command lime formatting did NOT work because it was a 64 GB drive. I formatted using Mac Disk Utility. If you do wipe instead of just reformatting the drive, it does work.

I only have 14 GB of music in folders of no more than 255 songs per folder. Made each folder a playlist. I have roughly 2000 songs I would assume total but they're in folders like I said. I use shuffle a lot. The flash drive is great the USB still fits in the stock holder it does not take up any room in my center console. Not like a flash drive takes up much, it looks cleaner. I have OCD when it comes to clutter in my car.

It's a SanDisk Cruzer Fit and only cost me like 35 on amazon for a 64 GB. Muchcheaper than an iPod classic which I was going to buy for music in my car.
