Reading the entire thread, im confused of those who are talking about the engine bay heating, the imid heating, and what the imid is warning about....

The I Mid shutting off like I'm getting has nothing to do with the engine temp. I suspect running the I mid display creates a lot of heat in the dash area or in the electronics so when it gets hot outside it automatically shuts off. Again if your I mid screen shuts off this Does NOT mean your engine is overheating

Okay, now I understand. It turns off to protect electronics. Neat, like a computer shutting off when it overheats.

Exactly. And your steering wheel controls also don't work when the imid is off.

Just for those of you wondering about the coolant temp gauge. If you look closely at your gauge cluster when it is off you can see that right next to the blue water temp "c" there is another one that lights up red and says "h". Don't ask me how I know this.

Mine still work. The only thing that doesn't is the display itself on mine at least.
