Led Interior Light Strips 10amp which fuse?

Hi guys, Im trying to install led interior light strips for my 2015 civic si sedan and I'm not sure which fuse to plug into.
The lights are 10 amp, I heard of plugging into 23 but I believe this is a 7.5amp. Does anyone know which will work? Ideally I would like to have it turn on/off with the car or with the radio.

It should be ok. 7.5 to 10 amps is not that big of a jump. Plus without knowing the actual wire size to 23, it might be just fine anyway if it is 14 awg wire. Depending on the kit you got, I used a LEDGlow kit which required a power source of 5-10amps, you may be just fine putting a 7.5 amp fuse in the expandable circuit.

Yes but I think you need a fuse in both slots for those to work. If that is the case then you can put 2 that add up to 7.5 or even 8amps and it would be ok. You could go as low as you want for the fuses as long as you don't go over the maximum recommended 7.5 amps to be safe.

well I mean it works if I just plug it into fuse 23 with the adapter above but just worried it is too much for that fuse since it is labeled 7.5. so maybe just get a 7.5 and replace that 10 and hopefully everything will be alright. or do you think it would cause issues with the leds?

The amount of power won't change with a smaller fuse just overheating protection changes.

it looks like this guy plugged it into one of the 20's, I'm wondering if maybe this is safer

Posting from that site here does that and probably vise versa. If you put in a lower amp fuse and it keeps popping, which means the wire is over heating, then yes; you could put in one the higher rated slots since the wiring to those it lower gauged and can handle more amperage. But if it works and doesn't pop, then it will be just fine.

Technically yes it would be the safest for the car. But if your kit is only designed handle up to 10 amps and you put it in a 20 amp fuse socket your leds would blow before the fuse does mitigating the purpose of the fuse if there was any sort of power surge. Leds dont draw nor require much power to use which is why they are ideal for automotive lighting. Installing them in a fuse socket lower than the amperage they are designed to withstand protects them and the car at the same time.
