I'm curious to know if anyone else has had their battery die on their car?
I have a 2014 Si coupe with less than 5000kms on it.
I've noticed recently that the battery was weak when I start the car first thing in the morning.
Yesterday when I got home from work I parked in front of my house and when I went to start my car a short time after to move it into my garage it would't start, battery was too weak.
After getting the car started with a boost I checked the battery with my meter while it was running. The meter read just over 14V so it's charging. I also checked the battery with the car not running and it read just over 12V. I also checked to make sure the battery post clamps were tight which they were.
I put the trickle charger on over night to give the battery a good charge because I've read that someone said that the batteries don't usually come with a full charge.
Time will tell. Hopefully the battery just needed a good charge.

My 2012 Si battery died with 30K miles or so on the ODO. I had to jump start it 3 or 4 times. At that point, I'd had enough and brought it in to the dealership. They replaced the battery for free, under warranty. I suggest you bring it in and complain. 5000km dead battery is ridiculous! My 2009 LX battery was always weak, as well, for the record. Idk if it's the way the electrical system is charging the battery or if it's the battery itself. But, they really need to do something about this.

There was a recall on the 2012's for the charging system not working properly when it was cold. The fix was a software update. I'm not sure if that applies to cars that are not in cold environments but my 2012 had battery issues prior to the recall. I took the car to the dealership and they updated the software and replaced the battery.

if you do alot of short drives (10-15 mins) the battery doesn't have enough time to get changed back up after the cold start, and slowly if you keep doing this on any car you'll find yourself boosting.

I haven't had any issues, but the day I got the car it took them 1hour to prep the car for me. I asked why and they said they had to charge the battery and it was taking longer than they expected. But I haven't had any issues, even after going to the drive in theater with a double feature. If you haven't already I'd let the dealership know.

So I charged my battery over night earlier this week and it seemed to be better.
This morning I went to start my car and it barley started. You could tell the battery was low again because you could hear the engine turn over slowly.
It seems to be a bad battery. One of the cells must be bad and drawing down the other cells.
It looks like it's off to the dealership this week.
