BWR short shifter

Got my short shifter today and put it on in about 20min. I bought an ebay special BWR short shifter. Fitment was good and it shortened up the shifts by about 20% and was money well spent.

Just thought I'd share.

Feels MUCH better, yes it is in my 2012 si sedan. Shortened up the throws by about 20-25%.

Hmm, i think i might order this. Comes out to $45 to get it shipped to me and i can test fit and see if the coupe is the same. I know for 8th gen the 09+ is different for some reason

twm has 1 short shifter for 06-2011 models. You know what company was selling different ones for 09+ models?

Read through this thread. The plastic base of the 09+ is a little larger and you need to dremel it out in order to install a short shifter assembly

In that thread, post #7 provides a link on how to modify the plastic base in order to fit the 06-08 shifters.

That's not a problem with the 12, the shifter linkage is under the base instead of on the back. LOTS of room down there for it.

Think of a see-saw. If you were to place the fulcrum closer to one side. The side its closest to wouldnt have as much travel. But that small amount of travel transmits to the other side furthest from the fulcrum which now moves a greater distance.

So this piece extends the length of the bottom part of your shifter. Below where it pivots (fulcrum). Thus requiring shorter movements from the driver to move the shifter cables their required amount to change gears.

short shifter is installed wanted to do a DIY on it but was a pain in the ***!! Way more then a 20 min install pm me if anyone needs help!!!!! Feels awesome def a difference I picked mine up for 20 buck deff a recomended mod!
