iMid hacking?

I'm wondering if their are a group of people out there working on a software hack directly to the radio rather than an iPhone jailbreak and Cydia software. Anyhow, I'm just trying to stir up conversation. I'll be taking a stab at it in the near future once it gets a little warmer outside.

I went into the diagnostic mode and found that the system has a gps chip/antinna. How frustrating to know the capabilities arent being used. The system is active and connects to multipule satilites.

I'm sure it has to do with positioning when connecting to the hondalink app. Think of how much easier it'd be to constantly update an app versus trying to have customers bring their cars in to update the actual radio unit.

I don't know of anyone working to actually hack it

Agreed! But they don't push any updates, and you know now that iOS and Droid auto are out, Honda will forget all about the HondaLink System.

but it has had updates? It's on version 1.4 now. You realize how many vehicles hondalink is on? It's even in the 2016 civic, pilot, accord, hr-v, cr-z, & fit. It's in basically every other model they make prior to 2016. See for yourself
