k757's '11 WRX ..... woot!

Good pics and congrats on your wins. Can you change the shocks? I know for the Si the Koni's make a huge difference.
There is a guy here in GA that was running an Si in G stock, and was normally only off the overall stock winner by 1 second or so.
The one autox I did before I got sick was fun, especially since I won rookie by over 3 seconds. I was only off the seasoned Si guys in STX by 1 to 2 seconds. They told me I couldn't run rookie again. That I would have to run with the other STX guys, but now the car is back to stock. I can't even begin to determine where the BMW would run, but since I haven't ran with the ATL region, BMW CCA, or Peachtree PCA then I would have to run novice/rookie.
I can run shocks and a fellow WRX guy does have Koni in his car. He is faster than me but I need more experience before I go changing things out

In one league, I can run rookie all year. In my other league, they have a 3 event max at rookie. So I am running DS all season with them

since my last update, I have raced a lot and done well. Venues include: Meadowlands, NJ (Giants stadium) and Devens airfield

I was in the hospital this week, so I'll post up some stuff ASAP

I had diabetic ketoacidosis http://www.diabetes.org/living-with-diabetes/complications/ketoacidosis-dka.html

I was in "minor" intensive care for the first night, then a regular room the second night and came home the next day. My mouth is still getting better from being all burned from throwing up acid. I still have not eaten a full meal since Monday. I did lose 10-15 lbs from this experience, so that's a positive :bleh:

I highly recommend to avoid this situation

does not sound fun... you give yourself shots?
no, I have a pump and have had it for ~15 years, but did something wrong and if my fiancee wasn't being around and caring for me, it could have killed me. I am changing how I go about this and life in general

You have a fiancee?! I didn't know this! Congrats! How long ago did you propose?

Get well soon!

wow I haven't been in this thread in a while, hope everything gets better Keith and congrats on your engagement.

WOW, it's been a long time since I posted anything here

season summary
+ won FCSCC rookie school
+ won SCCA NER (Devens) rookie school
+ I had some really great showings which included a top 5 finish of 100+ cars at SCCA SNYR (long island, NY) and multiple top 10 finishes
+ won the season FCSCC "Rookie Stock" class
+ In the FCSCC club championships, I came in 7th of 20 of the club's top drivers.
+ I won the FCSCC Rookie of the Year

At the beginning of the season, I was finishing in the top 30-50%. After I removed the aftermarket (Whiteline) rear sway bar and put back on the stock bar, I immediately jumped to the top 5-20% in the standings. The issue was that I had to keep fighting the rear end from coming out on me. On NASIOC (impreza forum), people swear by the rear sway, but for me, it was a nightmare.

The places I have raced (ever), in order of preference:
+ SCCA NNJR - MetLife stadium, Meadowlands (Giants stadium)
+ SCCA NER - Devens, MA air base
+ SCCA SNYR - Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, NY
+ FCSCC South (large) lot
+ FCSCC South (small) lot
+ CART - Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville, CT
+ CART - LAZ lot - Hartford, CT
+ SCCA NYR - Ithaca Mall, Ithaca, NY

Next thing I need to learn better is left foot braking. When I get that, I should be a pretty tough competitor

Overall, I'm very happy how my first season went. A lot of people know my name and know of me. Can't ask for more from a rookie season

So......Do you really like your Subaru?
That is a good question. Yes and I don't know.

"Yes" as the car is a four season car here in the northeast. It really can do it all and all that I currently ask of it.

"I don't know" as I wonder if the car is making me better than I am. Yes, I know I'm likely better than average but how much better? How much is the car correcting my mistakes? Should I stick with this car now until I learn a lot more and get that seat time? I can understand having "training wheels" is a good thing while still learning.

all of these are good points/questions but I know that I'm having a ton of fun with it and that is enough ...... for now
