2013 sedan 6800 miles and there is wear from my hand on the steering wheel? Any chance this is covered under warranty? Can't imagine how bad it would look at 100k

It's worth having a dealer look at it. Pics of what it looks like?

I had some wear on my steering wheel, i have a 2013 Si coupe only a year old and about 14k miles and there were bits flaking off. I took it to the dealership and they covered it under warranty. The wear happened on the spot where i most commonly hold the wheel when driving. They didn't give me any hassle and they handled it under warranty, took a week to get the part and only a few hours to have them install it.

I may take mine in, since I am at 29,000 miles I better do it now before I happily expire my warranty at 36k

I'm just wondering if you all are planning to get some type of wheel cover to protect it after you get the wheel replaced. Depending on how long you keep a car before trading it in.
I've gotten wheel covers for every car I've owned(except one that was a custom wood wheel, I got 18 years on that one with no ware. what so ever). I just expect most wheels to show ware, so I get covers straight off(seat covers too), but I tend to keep my cars for many years.

That's coming from China, and yes they're sewn. They give you a needle and a thread to keep it on the wheel. Takes about 20min or so to apply by hand.

Im at about 10k miles and i too have where like at the 12o'clock part of the steering wheel. its so ugly but i dont want a cover or an aftermarket steering wheel so im screwed
you can buy the OEM leather cover but it's not a cheap solution. A handful of people done it from the full DIY

This looks awesome. Anyone tried this yet?
@Monk has a cover, but I'm not sure of the "brand"
