Hi guys, I am looking to bring my car in and have my new subwoofer and amplifier hooked up. I am not too good when it comes to electrical wiring so I decided to bring it to a professional shop to have it done. What I am worried about is the quality of the installation gear they will be using. They said they will be using a 4 gauge Raptor amp kit. I'm looking to power my amp at 750 RMS at 2 Ohms resistance which will power my singe dual 4 Ohm, 800 RMS sub. I know the top name brands such as Kicker and JL Audio have high quality wiring, and I know to stay away from Boss or Pyle, but I have never heard of Raptor. Can anyone give me some feedback on how they are?

Welcome......
I'd like to know why your negative comment about "BOSE".......
Feel free to speak, I don't own any Bose, I just assumed they made quality stuff.

Yikes, copper coated aluminum? Sounds like cruddy stuff.... hold off until some of the more knowledgeable audio people take a look.

@squiggy has done some work on his audio setup.

The only time I would use the copper coated aluminum wire is for power from my distribution box to the amps. Spend a bit extra on the solid copper wire for the speakers and off of the battery if you want a better quality system/sound. Companies started making aluminum/copper wires because of the cost of copper.

Our resident engineers and audio experts will better be able to explain the difference in wires.
