Ok here's my thoughts, the lane watch system is great, awesome and dandy, but....I don't use it, I just turn my head. This is the thing that would be great, when you push the button on the headlight stem it turns on and off, constant video feed from the camera......how's about splicing a DVD / Video feed into that same feed coming from the camera? Question #2 getting audio from the said source? Question #3 a switch to go back and forth between the input (dvd) and the lane watch. Can't wait to hear some ideas guys, the 7" screen is being waisted and needing some custom touches. Just need some other civic owners expert advice as I've only had it for 2 weeks....

Thanks @Pauly99to17

OP, question 1 - can be done. Question 2 - easiest is through the aux. Question 3 - this might get tricky as you don't know what powers the camera but it can be easy when that is determined.

Thanks guys and definitely read up on both your guys builds, however there is no aux input on the 2014 ex, unless it's hidden from me altogether

Edit: I'll start breaking it down here tomorrow, then I'll have some pics for everyone to look at before I hack into it

Just got home. Here you go. Your aux is in your glove box :)

I ran out there as soon as you posted, I couldn't find one we are talking about an 8.5 audio input jack right? And in your image it has an asterisks?

Edit: 3.5mm

All I found was this:

It's a USB but what for?

Not included in all models, "models equipped with the display audio system is not applicable with 3.5mm AUX"

Poop....

I'm going to see what's on the back of this "display audio" and see what I can find. I'll keep updating.

That's really strange if it doesn't have one. I suspect it's in the back of the unit as well. Those that have hdmi didn't get the aux input jack in the tray but should still have aux capabilities since the units are same right?

That's what I'm thinking, hoping after work today I can get behind it and look, that would make things so much easier than slicing up the speaker outputs, with your work with the I-mid was pretty much everything pop in clips? *speaking of the dash assembly

Should be the same concept. Might be a bit more work if you don't want splice but it's do able

@ADExternal is it possible to select between the camera and dvd/input with just a rocker? Or do I need a three position switch?

According to the 2014 Spec page at Honda.com, the only Civic with the aux input is the LX, which does not include the DisplayAudio radio. EX and above have DisplayAudio without an Aux input, only USB. So it is likely the stereo does not have firmware to support an Aux. Most probably used the USB port so Honda nixed it on upper models in favor of dual USB ports.
