According to the kicker and different angle video. The ball got placed down and then the bottom of the ball moved out a couple inches. They called it a double placement which messed up the timing and the kicker was trying to not swing through.

I think the ball get there a hair too late, was not positioned correctly on time and was being held weirdly(finger too low with hand on top of the ball). Also, looks like his plant foot was too far passed the ball and maybe even too close to the ball. Kinda looks like he was trying to stop...
