What I got out of that article was that he had a job which enabled him to earn $30k-40k a month ($360k-480k/yr)...? Why the heck can't I find that job?

Now, he's only making $10k-11k a month ($120k-132k/yr) like a good portion of the rest of us working stiffs... I wonder if he got fired or was doing something he possibly shouldn't have to be raking in that kind of money (and, why he didn't want to talk about the job change in the article). Losing 60-70% of your income is huge! I'm not even sure why image comes into play but this guy obviously doesn't make the most sound decisions.

Sounds like he is making income off social media, the etsy store he mentions and maybe a "9 to 5".....or at least he was at some point? Forget all that.....just purchasing that car at $300k-ish over msrp was his first mistake, second mistake was the finance deal....this was prob the biggest mistake. If @webby is correct and dude paid in $360k in 3 years and only paid off $80k of principal($260k went to interest). Then this dude would of had/has terrible credit and on top of that he is the biggest f-ing idiot. Dealers now a days breakdown the payments and interest and rates and such. Just looking at that alone should have made him run away very quickly.

But then to think that he was putting 1/3 of his income(at the time of purchase) into a car. Again, that should have made him say no to the car purchase.

But hey.....all for the gram! YOLO!!!!

Whatchumean ONLY 120K -- I didn't need my aspirational wages turned into breadcrumbs like that! :rotfl:
I don't understand why he had to get the most expensivest Ferrero-Rocher there was! He'd have been fine with basically anything else besides that. Like a Civic LX, for example. Could've paid cash!

The article states he puts in $10k-$11k/mos. So, $360k over the course of ownership is a conservative estimate. So, it could have been as high as $396k over the 3yrs which further exacerbates his problem. And, the article says it was even a larger percentage of his estimated income, "Even making $40,000 a month, that’s $480,000 annually, meaning the SF90’s purchase price was over 62 percent of his annual income." Every red flag was there, peak of the market (probably) to pay $300k above MSRP, debt to income ratio, interest rate, etc. but all the guy saw was "Ferrari" and "Clout" so he signed the dotted line. . . Now, he's hoping for a bailout of his poor decision making.

As an aside, I bet since he's having to take a loan out to 'pay his rent', he's likely not getting the maintenance done; and if he is, he's probably not going to Ferrari for it. Which means, the car's 'pedigree' is in question and further devalues the car (Doug DeMuro did a few articles on this when he owned a Ferrari 360, if you don't take it to Ferrari, it is a huge black mark on the resale market).

Yeah, I thought I might get this kind of response to that post. Sorry bro, was just generalizing; I'm just hoping to make it into that $300k+ range some day.

It says it all in the article, "he has to 'keep a certain kind of image.'" And, that's about all you need to know about this guy to understand his decision making process which has gotten him into financial distress, gained the attention he craves, and then wonders why people are laughing at him.

Yup . . . and crotch goblins . . . 3 of them (mostly grown at this point, youngest is 13)! Family of 5 over here; its a full house.
