Just hire everyone, spread some holiday cheer!

My rule of thumb for the 8 years I worked on liquid metal breeder design -don’t boil the coolant. “There be dragons!” Positive void coefficients make for an explosive surprise.

We were okay as we didn’t go above 650F to the 981F boiling point because the fuel and cladding would go eutectic and we’d lose “coolable configuration” before we boiled that metal coolant.

I mostly worked in PWRs; much simpler design and process overall with quite a bit more margin for error (negative coefficients also make things inherently stable which helped prevent human error). There was one design I worked on that allowed for some minor nucleate boiling but beyond that it was controlled.

^ me too, and too lazy to take off more time

starting the day with the usb-c port on my laptop going crazy, wont connect to my docking station... i think the warranty expired this week and the hospital said thats when im due for replacement

Speaking of computers. My work computer which is a Dell OPTIPLEX has only 2 video outputs. VGA and display port. I wanted to add a second monitor but my second monitor only has VGA or HDMI. I should be able to still hook this thing up with a display port to hdmi cable right?

The docking stations for our Lenovo T14s/T16 are ****. Well I think it's the firmware or something. People always having issues with them. Displays not coming on, network LAN connection not working. yada yada.

Speaking of Dell Optiplex's... I know a guy that is an expert on them. @Honda-Fan

Edit: Yes DP to HDMI cable would work.

My shop was open a half day today. We had no work booked in and we just cleaned the shop for the entire time. Then I found out that the dealership isnt even open. Real waste of time.

Dealership is in a different building down the road from our shop. Small town things.
