I was totally joking, but yea. The idea of acquiring Canada is just :scratches: x a billion
I'm more amazed that the guy is saying he would take Panama and greenland by force, that's nuts. I'm not sure how he's getting away with say that.

"reports say"
he's changing the gulf of mexico to the gulf of america. He's also changing alaska's tallest peak from denali to mckinley. Obama changed it to denali due to their request they made in the 70's.

====
Alaskans, including their once-Gov. Jay Hammond (a Republican), had asked the federal government for the change to Denali back in the 1970s. Trump said in December that he will change the name back to McKinley, after the 25th president, William McKinley, a fellow Republican who was from Ohio.

'murica! You can say anything and everything and it's just ok these days, especially if you become president. We are building a Putin 2.0

Half the time I think he is just saying crap so people can talk about him and he can see his name on the paper and on the news but he has no f'ing clue how stupid he is making the nation look.

theyre not cheap to install or buy, but if theyre spending that much why did they install what looks like a 50kw CHAdeMO and I hope CCS is on the other side? Nissan Leaf is about the only road going car that still uses CHAdeMO and theyre dropping it in the next generation, 50kw is slow for a L3 but most dealerships seem to install them cause i think they can run on the industrial mains service a dealership would have.

I don't know anything about this monstrosity. I was told they are tearing down this dealership in 2023 to build a new one yet they keep renovating it and now installing a charger.

@Janz3n how old is that dealership? Still using the old Chrystler emblem on the main sign is wild. Didn't they stop using that like 20 years ago? lol

So, I'm having a poor start to the new year. In addition to being sick for the past week, I destroyed something I spent most of the past year fixing because I was focused on something else. Allow me to fill you in.

In 2023, I moved from VA back to my home state of FL following getting out of the Navy. When I arrived in FL, I was exhausted as I drove through the night to meet my pre-planned timeline as I had about a week to get everything done before starting my new job in Florida. Anyhow, when returning the U-haul I used, I was backing my Stealth off of the trailer and didn't realize the front wheel stop was caught under the right side of my bumper; as I backed the car off, it tore the front of my bumper along the right side where it snagged:

Now, part of my move, it took me awhile to get setup into my new house and to the point where I could start on this project. Not to mention, I had to figure out how I wanted to handle it. I did find a used bumper, in the right color (which is extremely rare; from what I can find, Mitsubishi only used this color (H28 Silver Pearl) for 2 years (in 94 and 95) and only on a few models) for about $200 but the dude had a hard time finding a way to ship it so the deal fell through. But, the bumper was basically junk so I figured I'd take the opportunity to learn a bit of body work and get a few more years' use out of it before trashing it and going to the '99 3000GT front bumper cover as I've been planning for years (I have all the parts, I just don't necessarily trust myself with doing this to a brand new OEM part that is difficult - and expensive - to replace). So, last year, I set out to begin the process and removed the bumper:

There is a better image of the damage.

I did a basic plastic repair, using those plastic welding pins that are melted in, then doing some fiberglass backing for strength and reinforcement. I used duct tape on the outside of the bumper to prevent the resin from running through the crack too much; it worked out ok:

Next post will contain the rest of the story (at the 10 pic limit).

Then, I began the process of body work, using filler (for the first time) to smooth things out and what not:

One of the things I was most proud of in this process was shaving the emblem off the front; I was never a fan of it so I took this time to remove it. In the end, it came out ok; it had a few waves and wasn't perfectly flush, but at a glance, it was good enough:

Then, after what seemed like 1000hrs of sanding and shaping, I called it 'good enough' and moved on to priming, painting, etc:

Then, I polished everything and was overall happy with the work. In the end, the paint match was decent enough; in artificial light, you really couldn't see the difference; but, in sunlight, you could definitely see there was too much yellow/gold in the paint. I knew this going in, the company I was working with did their best and in the end, refunded my money due to not getting a match:

Now, this is where it gets sad.

I ended up finishing this work in mid-December and reinstalled the bumper onto the car.

Well, yesterday, I decided to tackle the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor replacement on my Civic. To do this, I jockeyed my cars around in the driveway, putting my Accord and my Pilot in the street, and left my Stealth at the end of my driveway as I didn't want to put it into the street (the streets are narrow). Anyhow, after the sensor replacement, as I was backing my Civic out of the garage, I heard a weird clicking noise that I didn't recall hearing before. I focused on trying to figure out what that was, wasn't paying attention as I backed out of my garage, until I heard the "crunch". I had just hit my Stealth, destroying the work that took the better part of a year to complete:

So, yeah, that's how my 2025 has been going thus far. Not sure what I'm going to do about it yet.

Got the new bumper on. Started wiring the lights in and quickly realized the $80 lights I bought instead of the $120 lights come with a much shorter harness so I had to order an extension harness for $25. Ended up buying a switch that fits in the console as well.

nice. Do the lights come on while in reverse, or just with the switch?

I was going to wire it to the reverse lights but decided against it. Maybe I can hook them up as well as the switch in the summer. I saw some 1 to 2 way dt connectors on Amazon.
