I have a 2012 civic. One of the valve stems is leaking. If I take it to a tire warehouse and have them replace the sensor with theirs will they be able to reprogram it there and get it working? Or does this have to go to the dealer? And if I take it to the dealer will they be able to program it with the sensor tire warehouse installs? Or will i have to buy a dealer specific part and have the dealer reprogram it?

Tire shops should have a programming tool to get it replaced and working.

I have a 2008 that for 2 years now has the light. I had it done at a tire shop and they couldn't get it working.

Yes I'm going to try a VIP tire with this one. If they get it working I might bring the other one there. It's 180k but I might just replace all 4 and get it working. Cause I've replaced a rim now and not sure what that one has on it.

i ordered 4 new tpms sensors from Honda
(i believe through collegehillshonda but cant remember forsure),
And had a local tire shop install them on my wheels and program them using their special gizmo to do it. Took like 30min.
