2012 Honda Civic Hybrid Awarded By Kelly Blue Book: Best Resale Value Awards
Best Hybrid Car:
2012 Honda Civic Hybrid
Honda is known for making reliable cars and the Civic is a running testament. Generation after generation, the Honda Civic has been the standard for the compact car category thanks to its combination of affordability, reliability and refinement – and the all-new 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid is no exception. As one of five different iterations of the Civic line, the Civic Hybrid ups the ante in fuel efficiency by offering 44 mpg in the city and on the highway. There are more and more good hybrid cars to choose from, but the 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid is the best hybrid car when it comes to resale value.
For 2012, Honda tossed the nickel-metal hydride battery pack used in previous Civic Hybrids in favor of a lithium-ion pack, and upped the engine size from 1.3 liters to 1.5, resulting in more horsepower and torque from the gasoline engine. Furthermore, during highway cruising the car can be powered by the electric motor only, and when the car comes to a stop, the idle-stop technology turns the engine off in order to save more fuel and further reduce emissions. In addition to all of this, the Civic Hybrid’s aerodynamic design, continuously variable transmission and ECO Assist technology – an information system that promotes a more fuel efficient driving style – contribute to the outstanding fuel economy.
With a self-assured new look that is sure to hold its age well for years to come, and evolved hybrid technologies that continue to prove their integrity, the 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid earns the top spot in hybrid resale value.
