DIY 2012 Honda Civic SI Sedan Rear Eibach Sway Bar Install

It should not be necessary to tighen sway bar bolts with the car under load. The sway bar only works when the two sides of the suspension are under a different degree of bump/rebound. That makes the bar twist, and it is the twisting that distributes the load to the other side. If you tighten the bar with the car jacked up, and set it down, all that will happen is that the bar rotates, as a whole, within the bushings, which is what it is supposed to do. Also, the end links have joints that allow them to change their geometry, depending on if the car is loaded or jacked up. That geometry change does not depend on the bolts being tightened or not.
