Not sure if this is the correct forum for this post. I have been looking at the 2013 Accord Coupes on line and so far I like what I see. My local dealer is getting the first blue one (Still Night Pearl) on October 27th and I have been invited (naturally) to test drive it. I currently own the 2012 EX coupe pictured. I have added dual exhaust, fog lights, window visors, tinted windows, dash cover, custom sheepskin seats and mud guards to it. My dealer is offering me $16,000 on a trade-in. In order to get the features I want on the 2013 Accord coupe I would have to move up to the EX-L model. Of course I love my Civic but won't know if I will love the Accord more until I drive it on the 27th. Any comments, trade-in price, Accord handling vs. the Civic would be appreciated.

Well you'll take a dump in the trade in with all the mod's you've done as you can see they're not going to count them until they turn it to sell.

Have you tried driving your Coupe with the eco mode off for a tank of gas, I still get over 31 for all around with some fun rides thrown in.

Another one..... what's the hurry 2014 might even be better or 2016 ?

Hi Monk....always glad to read your comments. Yeah, I will losing a few bucks but I thought I could take the dash and seat covers off to sell and maybe the mud guards would fit the Accord if I go fo it. I always use econ mode. Just came back from a trip to Oregon and averaged 35.8 mpg running 80 mph with the air on down Interstate 5. Overall, combined driving, I am getting about 25 depending on how hard I put my foot down. The hurry is I am getting up there in age so this might even be my last car. Not a mid-life crisis though. I have always thought "Life's too short not to drive the car you want".

dealership closest to me just got their first sedan. I've not sat in, or driven the 2013 accord to comment on how it drives. You'll obviously be taking a hit on buy/selling a new car in a year. I don't know what you paid for your car, but I guess you have to decide how much of a loss you want to take. Best bet would be to sell off all of your add-ons, and then sell the car privately. You'd wouldn't be taking such a hit. I say go drive the car if you're really considering it, and see what you think of how it drives. Any reason you're considering the change so soon?

the next accord update would probably take place in 2015 (mid cycle refresh). If history is any indication, they usually just change the front/rear bumper slightly...along with a few tweaks to the grill/trunk badging. The car has the new earth dreams engine and a lot of new tech, so I don't see them doing much to the accord until the next gen: 5+ yrs out.

I hear what you're saying on age, If all goes right I'm thinking this will be my last as well (68 in a couple of months).

Whatever you choose, enjoy life. I can understand your desire for something on wheels that excites you, I still ride a sport bike.

Damn Monk...you are just a kid !! I got a chance to see the new coupe today. It just arrived at the dealer this morning. An EX-L with Nav in the new "Still Night Pearl" color. If you like purple you will be like this color. I was hoping it would be close to the "Dyna Blue Pearl" color on my Civic coupe. Nothing like it at all. I'll be waiting for a red one to come and see how I like that. As I mentioned, I love my Civic so it is no big deal if I don't move up to the Accord. Glad to hear you are still riding. I rode Honda Gold Wings for years....
