22 maps on how to pronounce

Truth. They need the one for upstate NY where anything that ends in --tary, such as documentary, the emphasis is on TARY, like terry in terry cloth towel. It's almost treated like a whole new syllable. Seden-TARY. Documen-TARY. Elemen-TARY.

Very cool. lol.

'Murca!

That's just cause we say our A's very hard.

My friends out in CA used to make me say words with A's in them just so they could have a laugh.

The one with the pronounciation for Pecan.... Yeah, had to say that a lot.

Hoagie......ha ha ha........really? ::confused:

Oh oh oh. Talk to my girlfriend bro. It's hoagie all day long and she's from south Jersey.

Me: what do you call a long sandwich with cold cuts and cheese?
Her: hoagie.
Me: what do you say to people who say otherwise?
Her: nothing. They're just wrong. (she left out the part with the staring look that would kill mere mortals).

Sub. It's a sub. WTF is a hoagie....

Also... there is this weird place near me where they speak of this "poutine" and say "eh" after everything.

I grew up an hour away from where I work and the differences are startling.

Soda vs pop

I had to search what a hoagie was. :hiding:

Ya, BTW Correct pronunciation is "poo-tin".....I've heard so many people mispronounce this word eh.

Oh, and for the record this letter -----> Z
Is pronounced "zed" not "zee". We speak English and in England the letter is called zed.:D
