You guys can come a little north too and join me on one my monthly "tristate drives" I host with some local subarus. Some really interesting roads around here. It's not our favorite area but it does in a pinch.
Details?! Post up on FB chat.

Once I get a car worth driving again I'll be happy to join.

Where is this place located?

Yeah dude, post your drives fool! There might be more interest than you think. Plus, not all of us are on the FB.

Didn't expect this much response on the drives! I'll have to start a group discussion on here about them. Don't want to step on anybodies' shoes.

I'll have to buy another fun car again before the year's out, might be too tough to wait until the spring.

Yeah the rides sound cool. So will we add them to the intinerary or will we go another time in the year?
I don't do FB so post it here too please

I have been on the Spartan drives, this is after we finished

Seriously though, I never thought of mentioning them here. Just didn't want to hijack another site's resources so to say. Plus you know, these were primarily Subaru drives. ;)

Here's another pic from a late winter drive this year. We go out into the sticks. It's grand.

I'll get some stuff worked out for you guys. Plan on something for October.

For anyone who is looking but still on the fence, Popular Mechanics just rated the Tail of the Dragon as #2 on its list of:

The 20 Greatest Driving Roads in the World
If you're gonna hit the road, hit some of the best roads on Earth.

Deals Gap, aka "Tail of The Dragon"

Where: Tennessee, USA

This stretch of U.S. Route 129 offers some of the sweetest curves outside of the Atlantic coast, with no fewer than 318 turns in the course of 11 miles. No driveways or intersections interrupt this forest-lined thoroughfare, though there are plenty of peg-scraping cruisers who knock down the average speed. While you're there, be sure to visit the Tree of Shame, where crashed motorcycle bits adorn the tree and dangle from its branches as a reminder of the road's dangers.
