All things FIFA World Cup 2014

I was in an argument with my coworker (who knows nothing about futbol/soccer) because I told him that I'm a fan of Spain since '06, not a fan of USA. He was going all political about it and telling me that since I live in US, I should root for the US. That was a very illogical and a very ignorant statement. He made it seem like I am against USA since I don't like the US team. :pat:

That's pretty much his logic.

He is right! You live in America so you should root for the US!

I have never followed US soccer so what's the point of me rooting for a team I don't know much about?

I've been on Team England since '06 also. Since England is out, I've been cheering for Portugal and Germany (not because they were against the USA, but that's who hubby and I decided to root for no matter who they were against)
I got told I should probably leave the USA and might get killed for my team choice.

"We pick USA but we don't have a clue how terrible or what MLS is."

...or we don't even watch it, but the fact you aren't cheering "USA!!" means you should probably leave
