Amazon, Mobil 1 & Valvoline Oil Compared

I've been surprised: Over the years there's been very little difference in how various oils test after use. The main factor seems to be oil change intervals. So use whatever you want, change it after 5,000 miles or 6 mths (max) and it's unlikely the engine itself will ever be the source of heartache or a sudden divorce. Even the generics like WalMart's SuperTech, Amazon Basics and even Costco's Kirkland "Signature" oil are all basically the same.

Seem to recall they're all made by Warren Distributing, just with different labels and slightly different formulas. In terms of having an above average (some say "stout") oil that offers more extreme protection Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (and only Ultra) or, if money is no object, Amsoil remain the best Gucci lubes.
