Also wondering what we're missing out on by not purchasing the radars that cost 1000+ lmaoI'll let you know in about a week how the valentine is. So far I really like it, but again, I've only had it for like a day.

I'm really happy you're LMAO, however, it's going to make sitting down rather uncomfortable. If you can't afford the best, you get what you can afford. I'm sure you're very familiar with that, and if you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer those for you as well and if I can't, the MoCo cops will be happy to answer them for you. Also wondering what we're missing out on by not purchasing the radars that cost 1000+ lmao
I'm not so sure you're missing out that much depending on which state you live in. Here in GA it's legal to have them, so I don't have to worry about detector detectors. They also don't use x band in GA so that trims down on the chatter quite a bit. As far as the automatic door openers, the YaV1 app is able to lock those locations out and mute them. So the only real fears I have would be Laser and Instant On, which all radar detector owners should be weary of.I'm really happy you're LMAO, however, it's going to make sitting down rather uncomfortable. What are you missing? A few minor things like being totally undetectable by Radar Detector Detectors. By being able to detect laser guns, by being practically impossible to see on the car, for having an extensive database of speed traps, red light cameras, speed cameras, for warning you when there are police in the area, for pinpointing and recording fixed radar units like automatic door openers, and a few dozen other things that keep you from getting tickets.
BTW, if you have a V1 be very careful if there are police around. They use instant on Radar which the VI will not detect fast enough to keep you from getting your speed read. Also if those police have a Radar detector detector, you can be stopped and the Radar unit can be confiscated in some states.
I'd also suggest you get the remote readout for the V1. That way when it's sitting up there on your windshield, every car within 40 car lengths won't see the arrows and know you're running an active Radar Detector. The V1 is very susceptible to false hits on X-band radar units. Most X-band is used for automatic door openers and things like speed warning signs. However, there are police departments that still use X-band radar units. Good luck on telling the door openers from police radar. I had a V1, the X-band problem was one of the reasons I got rid of it. I got tired of all of the false positives.
Personally I run the Escort 9500ci but it's a bit pricey. It has both laser detection and shifting so the returned signal isn't valid. My wife has a 9500ix and it's really sensitive. I had a Valentine and it was okay, but lost faith in it after a friend of mine was hit by radar in NJ and the V1 never went off. Fortunately for me (not so much for him) he got the ticket.@kgf3076 - Which detector laser combo do you run/recommend?
