Anyone else watching the Tour de France??

Just wondering if anybody else gets into this? We've been watching this race every year since 1997, a couple of years before Lance began winning.

Some REALLY nasty crashes this year!

I used to be into it, but became disillusioned after all the doping controversy.

Armstrong has always flatly denied doping and although a two-year federal investigation was dropped in February, charges have now been filed by USADA, accusing him and four members of his back-up staff, including his long-standing team manager Johan Bruyneel, of systematic drug use during his strongest years.

If found guilty by USADA, Armstrong could lose all seven of his Tour de France titles. Dogged by accusations since his first Tour victory in 1999, Armstrong has been testified against – according to a letter published by the Washington Post – by at least 10 riders or former riders. Two years ago, Floyd Landis, the 2006 winner later stripped of his title after testing positive, accused Armstrong of systematic drug use, claims later echoed by another former team-mate, Tyler Hamilton.

I agree.

My disinterest is due to the ridiculous attempts that have been made to discredit Lance Armstrong. Even after he's passed every test they've thrown at him already.

So it has to be cheating for an American to win several years in a row. Total bullshit!

Not quite sure how you prove he was on drugs that many years ago...unless they have pics/vids of him doing them? At this point, it's just what one person or persons says against another, no?

While Cancellara lost the yellow today, he put in one heck of a ride, especially up that really nasty final climb they had to suffer up to the finish!!! Made me ache just to watch them. Had to go put ice on my knee just from having sympathy pains for them.

At any rate, I heard that there were 14 riders who had to abandon the race, most coming from the big crash that occurred yesterday! Too bad, really!

Armstrong gets 30-day extension to answer doping charge​

The United States Anti-Doping Agency has agreed to give Lance Armstrong 30 more days to answer charges he used drugs and blood transfusions to improve his performance, including during his record seven consecutive Tour de France victories.

The extension came a day after Armstrong re-filed a lawsuit against USADA in federal court to stop the anti-doping agency from pursuing its case. Armstrong's attorney, Tim Herman of Austin, Texas, released a statement Wednesday saying the extension "will allow the court sufficient time" to evaluate the cyclist's complaint.
