Battlefield 6

I got an early Beta code from watching a Twitch Stream yesterday and played for about an hour or so last night. Decent. Not sure I'll spend the $70 or whatever right away but better than I expected.

Was it 40 terabytes to download? Any real
Changes from previous games, or basically just new maps?

I haven't played a ton of games but not bad stats...

Do you use mouse and keyboard, or do you use a controller?

First Person Shooters - Always keyboard/mouse. I would be crap with a controller lol
Racing/Sports/Rocket League/GTA - Controller

This game crashes on me every ~five minutes, and I have a 14th-gen with 64GB of RAM and a 5090.
So disappointing.

Does it give you an error when it crashes?

5600x with 32GB DDR4 RAM and a 3080Ti @ 1440p - No issues here.

None. Just crashes to desktop.
In the beginning, it would crash within seconds. I dropped the graphics settings down a notch and disabled the "Marker" DLC, which was a suggestion in the forums. That got me a full five minutes.

I'll dabble more either tonight or tomorrow and see what I can do to get some stability.
My BIOS and drivers are all up to date, so not sure what's going on. This is the only game I own that does this.

saw this, but I see your bios is up to date. I don't know if you can alter the voltage as a test?

===========

Edit: doing research I found that 13/14 series intel cpus have an over voltage problem. I am currently updating BIOS to see if that works. If not i will manually drop the voltage a bit. This it might be a CPU issue (literally the only game I’ve had this happen with smh)

Resolved: updating BIOS fixed it and have been playing a couple hours now no issues. Did turn V sync off and ambient occlusion. And did set my settings a little lowe because it had it set to ultra for my hardware. Update bios asap!

also this -

Based on crash dumps, it appears that the EA Anti Cheat is flagging something on my system and auto closing. For clarification, I do not have cheat programs on my system but there is a ton of pretty colours generated by the computer / screen itself, based on what's on the screen.

This is causing the game to crash and very rarely, the system itself. I also found that after every crash, if I verify game files (Steam) there is three files that always need to be fetched.

THE FIX:

  1. Go to msstartup and clear pretty much everything safe to do so. No game launchers, epic store, razer software etc.
  2. Play the game until it crashes. Verify files, then restart the computer.
  3. When booted, ensure in your taskbar there are no services running. Hyte Nexus, Razer Synapse, Creative Cloud, nothing. Bare bones.
  4. Boot the game and enjoy. I managed three games in a row, two nights running.
Finally saw the end game screen, which is nice. But for now, unsure on what is flagging the EA Anti Cheat.

The BIOS update addressed the over-voltage issue some time ago, so that's now managed through a BIOS setting. I've tested that too, but toggling them made no difference.
I really shouldn't have to do that for any one game though.
I suck at these games anyway due to the degradation of my cellular replication capabilities over a prolonged period of time.

endless comments about what supposedly fixed or didn't fix users issues. I don't know if any of these will be of help, but maybe worth tinkering to test

------
Found that unchecking MP marker and MP marker HD in the dlc section on steam (steam library>right click BF6>properties>DLC) fixed it for me tbh just uncheck those 2 and relaunch

Lowest settings with v-sync disabled, still crashes almost the exact same time every time.
I think I'm giving up on this game.

I may have figured this out.
This game does not like 4x frame generation. Not even 3x.
I've switched it to 2x, which is what my 4090 used to do. Now, the game is stable.
Go figure.
