Best Tire EVER

Lol. Welcome to Michelin. Pirelli's are a great tire also but you will get more road noise and possibly bumpier ride depending on the tire.

Max inflation? As in the maximum specified on the sidewall? (50 PSI ) I would never run that high a pressure. You should bump the tires up slightly over the door jamb rated pressures if you are driving at high speeds, or have increased loads, or both. Also, you may have better performance cornering with slightly higher pressure in the front, IF your camber is near 0 degrees / low. It will help to combat the tire falling away from the rim at high lateral loads.

I use the door jam specs, 32 PSI. Have 9/32nds remaining on the rears, 8/32nds on the fronts. Driving is modest, but the heavier car can't help.

Thanks... it's amazing how much difference a tire can make. Now I'd like to find the single best engine mod, and still keep it NA. Any ideas?

I am still planning on going larger, originally planning on going with 17's, but still toying with the idea of going to an 18, although the streets aren't terrible here, there are some ugly potholes. I would ideally like to pay down some bills first before diving in and spending a whack of money, so it may not be this summer, possibly next though. I have been looking on the local free ads for 17" Si take-off wheels, but nothing at the moment.

Love the larger 18" look and seriously considered them with Honda HFP diamond cut wheels. The research I dug up gave me pause.... apparently the 18" PSS tested no better than the 17" PSS, except in its ability to drain my wallet. 17's are often in the $165 - $195 range, which I found quite acceptable given their reasonable ride and ability to provide intense entertainment value, on-demand. For the 18's in the same tire, however, one can add a hefty $100/PER tire, and for what... looks? The slightly sexier profile just isn't worth $400 to me.

By the way, I didn't drive the FRS but did drive it's twin sister, the Suburu BRZ with stock tires (??) and was mightily impressed. Anyone who loves the twisties would be seriously remiss if they didn't test drive at least one of them.

im a huge fan of the RS3 for dry weather you honestly cant beat its grip for price, but its wet performance is non existant.

my new wheels and tires will be at 45psi to keep the wheel sitting nice. gotta run higher pressure to keep good performance on stretched tires :)

Hondata Flashpro with Vit tune.

Thanks. I loaded the Flash Pro stock equivalent, which eliminated rev hang, now i need to get serious.

So you already have FlashPro?

Hmm... if you're not going to mod the engine much my next suggestion is larger rear sway bar.

Hey Nix.... Yes, one happy Flash Pro owner, i am. (Still need a VIT tune, however) But ever since I got my Pilot Super Sports my focus has been on upgrading the handling, so appreciate the rear sway bar idea - Thanks!

These came on my 2012 Civic Si HFP Coupe with the 18" HFP wheels and i believe a 215/40/18 . i noticed a huge difference when i switched them out in the fall for the 17" Si alloys and Michelin MXX4. went from super grippy to somewhat grippy.
Did notice in the summer when i was on the highway with them that they seemed prone to hydroplaning in the heavy rain, but they were like glue in the corners on dry days

So you're one of the lucky HFP owners! Thanks for the feedback on the tires.... What do you think of the HFP suspension?

I love the HFP suspension, I have said right from the beginning that i thought that the HFP suspension should have been standard on all of the Si's

That's great to hear, i appreciate it. I'm sure there are stiffer and better handling systems, but i also want retain much of the original comfort. It's not a punishing ride, is it?
And with the Yen coming down 20% in the last 6 months, i'm not surprised to find the entire kit (springs and struts) for another $100.00 off... down to $663 recently. I'm sold!
