Did you pick up your 2011 BMW 1 Series M? If not, you may be paying a lot more for one down the road. The $46,135 German sports coupe will be produced through the end of this year... and then it's done. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, BMW admits that its latest sex toy pumped-up two-door will have a very limited run of one model year.

That's not to say we won't see another version on the future. However, it could be several years before that happens, which should make the current (and only) crop of BMW 1 Series M cars quite collectible.

After reading TDB's report, we pressed BMW for some more insight into the matter, and received confirmation that the current 1 Series M is only sticking around for the 2011 model year. The next generation 1 Series is at least two-and-a-half to three years away, which is too much time to speculate on a future 1 Series M. Curious as to how many 2011 1 Series M coupes will be produced? So are we, and BMW can only share that "less than 1,000 units" will be produced in 2011.

Said another way... get in line. Now.

I was curious about the specs, so I looked them up...

"Speaking of which, under the hood of the 2012 BMW 1 Series M Coupe lives a twin-turbo 3.0 liter inline-six engine that sends 335 ponies to the rear wheels with 332 pound-feet of torque, these numbers are identical to the current Z4 sDrive35i. The 1 Series M Coupe accelerates to 60 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The 1M is equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox, although rumors had been circulating about a dual-clutch automatic gearbox."

Basically a 335i in a 1 series....I bet it's a hoot to drive, lol

love this car. idk why but i do. i think it's better LOOKING than the 335i coupe. not the sedan though. sedans RULE! ;)

what i wouldn't give to own an e90 ///M3 sedan. :fap fap fap:

How would the wrx or Sti stand up..similar 0-60s, awd...

I'm a Subaru fan... But I can't really compare an STi/WRX to a BMW.. That's just me.

4.8 seconds 0-60 for the '11 STi
5.4 seconds 0-60 for the '11 WRX

They've used that engine to death. It's cool but this would have been fun with their high revving V8 in it.. or throw the V10 for fun :)

I have an 01 325CI and I think the 1 series is ugly. it reminds me of the 318... which was also ugly. haha just not the look for me.

seeing as it's above 350tq to the wheels at like 2500rpm +, I'd say that would be a fun car to drive
