BMW M3 Track Car

I would disagree. As long as preventative maintenance is done then they are good. Its when people buy a junk a junk car to save money and find out its been abused, then things can begin to snowball.

The only issues I've had are the water pump failing when a friend had the car( I had a new cooling system at home) and my clutches in the diff finally let go at 116k miles.

Racecar = bring more wallet. A bmw is just not a cheap junky honda.a 50k car new is always going to cost more for parts than a 15k civic.

Wouldn't you attribute the diff repair from a lot of racing? Not saying you abuse it, but yeah. Water pumps are going to fail on any car at some point. Commonly 100k

Good point. A lot of the bmw's that come through this dealership have not been maintained and that's where the problems arise. I guess some people think buying an expensive car means you don't need to do regular oil changes

Not really. They were original.
The e36 has common "look at" items when purchasing one.. sub par quality plastics (water pump impeller, thermostat housing etc), and subframe/RTAB reinforcements.

Car came out of the shop last night.. I put the rest of it back together and drove it 45miles back to my apartment after doing a break-in procedure on the diff. It now has front brakes, and brakes that work. woot.

They are my favorite too. I wish I could keep them but I need the money. For a car that's done 5000 miles in 2 years, not many people got to see the wheels apart from the walls of my garage. lol

I just now looked on my phone and realized you stole my phone to take that pic...and then uploaded them and posted them in here. I was wondering why the pic looked so good. Get your own phone! :rotfl:
