On my way to work yesterday a ticking/ knocking noise started from my engine. I pulled over, checked the fluids- fine. No lights on the dash. Nothing. I drove it to work and called Honda. They towed my car to the dealership. They said that my left rocker arm broke and that they would have to replace that arm and the cam shaft. Has this happened to anyone before?? Honda is going to fix it under warranty, but I'm worried it may happen again. Please help!
Btw... I should be going by the dealership tonight, hopefully I can get some pics...

Hopefully it was just a fluke. Maybe that arm had a crack or a weak spot or something. At least your'e covered!

Here's the pictures from going to the dealership last night. The service manager wasn't around so I couldn't get a picture of the broken piece.
They told me that the rocker arm was either weak or had a small crack causing the failure. Do they have to remove my engine to replace the cam shaft?

Well, guess who's car is back in the shop?? MINE...
It started making a whining sound last Thursday, took it to the dealer on Friday. The guy in service said it was nothing, so I asked for a mechanics opinion. The mechanic said maybe a belt tensioner. They took my car in and gave me a rental.
Called them today to see what's going on. They said the timing chain failed and was coming apart (not sure how that can happen??) and that they are replacing the chain, chain guide, and chain tensioner.
Could this be related to the rocker arm???
Could my car be a lemon??
PLEASE HELP!!:confuzzled: This is so frustrating!:banghead:

I'm guessing it was just a problem with the tensioner.... and they're replacing the rest as a result of it. I'd ask to talk to the mechanic when you pick it up. See if he/she can provide you with any additional information.

Thanks Webby, I will definitely be asking the mechanic a ton of questions! Could it have been timed wrong when they replaced the cam shaft, causing the chain to fail?
