building a cat back (r18)

ok so i got my hands on a 8 gen si axleback and my buddy who was recently rear ended and flagged for illigal mods gave me all but the axleback from his full catback setup on his 8th (decided to cut his losses and return to stock) soo i have a bunch of exhaust piping and im going to bring it down to my local exhaust shop and see if he can hack and weld it to fit mine. down the road ill get the downpipe replaced but not yet. so pros and cons to doing this? or should i not do this and just just rock the si axleback?

No reason a muffler shop couldn't bend some pipe to make whatever work. What kind of exhaust did he have?
