Cadillac ATS makes it's debut around 'Ring

if you watch the video closely, you'll even catch a glimpse of the euro civic on the ring

Prototypes have been a lot more visible of late, and the future entry-level Cadillac appears to be spending a lot of its time over in Germany. Here is a video of the well-camo'd Caddy as it runs the famed Nürburgring – in a big, fat hurry.

If you listen hard enough, you can hear some high-revving engine notes, but with the screaming tires it's anyone's guess as to what's lying in wait under the bonnet.

So is this supposed to replace the CTS? Or is Cadillac just adding a new, similar model to their lineup? Definitely doesn't look large enough to be an STS replacement. I'm lost.

supposedly the little brother to the cts.

an earlier article -
The big news powertrain-wise is that the ATS will get a turbocharged four-cylinder. The entry-level ATS is slated to come equipped with a 270 horsepower version of GM’s turbocharged 2.0L engine, backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to those eight cogs, the 2.0 ATS should return 22/32mpg.
An up-level 3.6L model will also be available, boasting 330 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. It too will be mated with an eight-speed gearbox, returning economy of 20/30mpg.
An ATS-V model is certainly possible, but it remains to be seen what engine what stuff between its fenders.

22/32 is really good for a car with 270hp weighing over 3000lbs.

Yeah, I didn't want to mention that. Lol.

V8 470hp in the "v"

The V6 is still 20/30 mpg. Only 2 less mpg than the 2.0T version.

The corvette has had the magnetic ride option for like ten years or more. Nice seeing the tech in other vehicles

"28 09" mentioned at the end... what do YOU think that means?

If it is the production vehicle ATS, it would not be 28.09.

I was trying to say - do you think it ran a 8min 28 sec and 09 tenths?

Yeah, I think it did run 8:28:09.
