Clutch buzzing sound

Okay, I have no idea what's wrong with my clutch. Sometimes when I press on the clutch, midway when releasing the clutch I hear a buzzing sound and I can also feel it on my clutch. It's like a little vibration when I stay there but this only happens sometimes. I would say once or twice a month?

12-13? Clutch springs are known to make noise on clutch engage.

Sounds to me like it's the same issue most have with that model year. Still have a powertrain warranty? If you can replicate it for them they should cover it as it is a wide spread known issue during take off's. If it's buzzing really quick on high rpm spirited shifts then I'd say that's more normal as mine does it since new, just the springs absorbing the shock

I have a 13 that does this. Usually happens to me when I give too much gas and don't release the clutch enough.

For mine it does this but even when I just use the clutch to let my car move when I'm on first, it still does this

Most find it's easier to replicate when on a hill or some sort of incline. Some reverse more than 1st

Mine is more of a vibrating, almost grinding sound.... Only taking off out of 1st... Very hard to replicate because it is so random. Happens like once a week or two. I took mine in they found nothing wrong and charged me $80 to look. Said if they would have sound something it would not have cost because of my warranty and Honda care but since they didn't find anything they would not bill Honda for nothing. I was fuming. Still am. So now I have to deal with it or take it in again and risk them not finding it and charging me. It isn't normal. In fact, my clutch even when the car is turned off or during normal shifting has a clicking noise on the down and up Motion. I don't know if that is related or not, but that for sure can be heard, so I might start there. Car is a 9th gen Si Coupe with 18k on it

The same thing happened to me with my EX! Turns out the pressure plate on the clutch was bad. Many have problems with the clutch springs as well. My Si gives me a whining noise every so often, and I've found it's when the car is cold and I'm backing into/pulling out of my garage.

As for the clicking noise, it's most likely the cruise control switch- not sure the real name, but the switch that tells the car you're shifting so it should cancel cruise. Good luck!

Whining in reverse is normal since day one for both our Civics - 2012 Si & '98 Ex, both manual shift - believe it's normal for all stick-shift Civics.

Yea the "cackling joker whine" is caused by Honda using straight cut revers gears. Helical cut gears like 1-6 don't make noise and engage easier due to the design but your never shifting reverse unless your at a stand still.
