Convince me to keep my 9th gen

Listen to me..

I've owned an 8th Si, a Stinkeye WRX, and now an Evo X.

The most fun I had behind the wheel was in my FA5. Honest.

Any generation WRX is equipped with a **** box, split case transmission. Anything beyond "Stage 2" is a gamble, and the only REAL option is an STI Trans swap. Think $8k MINIMUM.

If you do decide to keep the Honda, invest in Kraftwerks, CT Engineering, or Full Race.

Driving in snow may become problematic with RWD.
Not at all. I've never had a problem (and I doubt that anyone who learned to drive RWD would). Depends on the skill level and experience of the person driving.
 
My brother's rx8 with Blizzaks on is so fun to drive in the snow.
 
Yeah, I live on top of a 1-1/4 mile long hill that rises 400+ feet. The plows get to it when they get to it. So when it snows more than a few inches, you better have chains if you have RWD.
 
You know I wouldn't mind having the new touchscreen and seats from the 2014. Honda is pissing me off with these radical changes every year.


My only hesitation with the new 9th gen has been the massive changes every year. I do think the 13' is probably my favorite so far.... they really marooned the 12' owners.
 
Had a WRX limited and then an STI. Now I have my SI. The SI is awesome, because you STILL get upper 20s for gas mileage during sporty driving. The wrx averages low to mid 20s with boring driving and the STI is upper teens with boring driving. Boost kills has millage QUICK. I loved my STI's power, but I didn't want to drive it, because the premium gas went so fast. We are over $4 a gallon. The power is fun, but it won't be enough. Soon, you will be on iwsti and clubwrx reading all the cool upgrades you can do. Now you have a larger payment, and you are still dropping hundreds of dollars in upgrades. The interiors are super cheap, because all of the money goes into that awesome engine. I had a $34K car that had so many little internal rattles. Don't get me wrong... I loved that car, but I love the smaller payment, and better mileage of my 2013 SI. My FR downpipe, HFP suspension, and 24mm sway make her feel like a little go cart that wants to be driven. The wrx, though fun, was forced to drive in boost anytime it went over 3k rpm. So basically, kiss your gas mileage gone if you want to drive faster than 70mph on the interstate. :( As mentioned above, it is ultimately your decision. The extra HP on the wrx is rarely used do to highway laws. I say keep, and upgrade your Si. Good luck! :)

A faster car eats away money. Whether its on fuel, tires, maintenance or the tickets you'll get. It's just more expensive in every way.

I had a E46 M3 before my Si. While I loved everything about that car, the looks, the HP, the suspension and M3 feel. It was just a money pit. 16 MPG. I can buy a full set of tires on my Si for the price a pair of 275 rear tires cost on my M3. And don't even get me started on the maintenance... lets just say there is a reason I'm driving a Honda now.
