Fender bender paint question

So I feel like crap. Just had my first accident ever and in my first new car :( a lady in a Smart car (ugh, I know) pulled out of the left turn lane into the right lane where I was driving as I passed her. She turned the front of her car into my rear driver side... Luckily it's not bad.

My question is, there was a ton of rubber on her car and some on mine. I'm worried this rubbery stuff was actually the clearcoat of my paint and now it's gone. There are just a few scrapes but it still makes me angry- I'm gonna get it all checked out especially since she hit me on the back wheel too. What do you think in repair costs and is it plausible I have no more paint protection in that area? Thanks all.

Surprisingly it doesn't look that bad at all, looks like just rubber scuffing on the rim there... that should come off when you wash the wheel. I would wash up the affected area to get a better look at it. Since it is low on the body and a vertical surface it is a candidate for the Glasurit small damage repair system.

Those are crappy iPhone photos, but it's surprisingly little damage for such a loud noise! I have better photos on my camera that I'll upload after work.

I'm going to wash the area tonight after work and it's going to the body shop tomorrow to get an estimate. Just want to make sure the wheel and moving parts are all in good shape too- I can live with scraped paint, but if her insurance is paying 100% then why not make my baby look good again?

Thanks, I'll try the clay bar too. Getting the estimate tomorrow so I can only hope it's cheap!!

Not too bad. 3 scratches about 4 inches or so long. Luckily it's on the bumper so I might end up just using a touch up pen to repair it.

It won't matter the cost...her insurance will be paying for it. You just have to get a few estimates and pick the shop. You'll be without you car for a few days, but it'll be repainted / new clearcoat in any damaged area.

Problem is nobody was there to claim responsibility and no note. :(
I'll take a picture and post soon.

Ouch! What is it with our Dyno Blue Civics? Sorry it was a hit and run Pauly :(

I got an estimate from the shop today and let's just say I was shocked. $1558 in total!! My iPhone photos don't do the area justice but I didn't think it'd be anywhere close to even $1k.

was that saying they had to replace that back wheel, or were they just quoting the panel being repaired/repainted?

I can upload the estimate tomorrow! Don't have it with me now- I think it's just to refinish the wheel if necessary

If you can catch a fingernail in it, it won't really be an easy fix. Meaning, it'll really need to be painted.
