First at it again!!! carbon hood on a 9th sedan si!!

how does it latch? i don't see hood pins so i assume it uses the stock setup/hardware?

how does it stay open? is there a notch for the pole, or did you get hydrallic dampers?

how is the rattle/fitment? is there any rubber seal to hold it from rattling up and down? how tight down is it/snug?

what type of sound dampening does it offer vs stock? the stock heatshield material on the underside of the hood also dampens engine noise, does this have any such feature?

sorry. never used a CF hood before but i'm very interested on this!

All great questions. I'm also waiting for answers... Things like weight, quality, fitment would be awesome. It looks amazing in the photo.

9thgen chris would probably be the person to answer those questions ^^

previous civic - it was literally just removing the 2 rear bolts that hold the hood on, and swapping them over. That was it. I don't think I've ever seen a carbon hood with an insulator under it for sound or whatever.

It latches using the stock latching mechanisms. However, we still have to recommend you purchase hood pins just in case. The real reason? If you are going very fast, it is possible for wind to get underneath the hood and put a lot of upward pressure on it. Eventually the front latch could become weak and fail. It is a very unlikely scenario but everyone should still know about it. The hoods pins absolutely prevent anything like this from ever happening.

The hood will stay open with the factory pole. Eventually, we should have some trick aftermarket hood dampers you can purchase :)

The fitment is very good. Just re-use your stock rubber seals as needed.

Most CF hoods are exact molds of the stock one. This one is no different and should have all the holes needed to re-install the heat shield if needed. Honestly I don't think you will notice a noise difference at all after installing the carbon hood.

Hope that helps. Let me know if there are any more questions.

I would get the Sparco ones. Silver is usually the most popular color, but if you have a red or blue Civic it might be kind of cool to get the red or blue hood pins. It's up to you!
