Flippercon's FG4 Build

So just got some good and bad news. My good buddy is trading in his 2012 FG4 tomorrow for a mustang :pat:. On a good note I get his HFP lip, yellow fogs, and type R front badge. I just have to help him swap out the coilovers back to stock and swap fronts.

All those for $120???

Yep car is being traded in tomorrow or the day after. I am helping him take off his coilovers and put OEM stuff back on. Swapping our fronts (both 2012 CBP FG4). Then swapping my stock map lights and dome lights for his LEDs. Also the god speed camber arms all for $120.

Well the deal is being moved to next weekend. So I decided to go on a cruise and snap a few photos. IMAG0822.jpgIMAG0823_1.jpg

I know the one wheel is still black, It bothered me so much in the picture I peeled it off.

Been a while guys. So I am in the market for some new tires. My stock tires made it 21k. Im thinking of bf goodrich rivals 225/45/17. Got godspeed camber arms v2 on order and going for alignment and all. Has anyone put this size on their stock wheels?

Yeah, thats almost a perfect fit on the stock wheels. I just picked up a new set of tires myself. I had considered the rivals but there are two competitors you should look at also. The new Dunlop Z2 and the Bridgestone RE11-A. The Rival is very close in performance but has a much thinner tread depth, not that any of these tires are going to last long, but it will be the shortest lifed of the bunch.

I talked with Rudy from tirerack a couple times and ended up going with the RE-11A as it makes a decent DD tire out of the extreme performance tires and has better wet performance than the others. I've only put about 200miles on them so far but they have been great. The only other tire you might want to think about is the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

Some info: Links at the bottom of the article to the other tires mentioned as well.

You talked me into it. I looked them up and got a price of 179.99 from my cousin that works at tire center. Only thing I see is 3 extra pounds per tire from stock, but I am willing to go that route. Thanks for the info man.

I'm running 225/45/17 Cooper RS3-S on my stock wheels right now and they look great.

Btw, a c-clip that holds the upper part of my GSP control arm rusted and came off. The arms only took on one winter season.

The other side is showing rust on the c-clip as well.

Yeah. Hopefully, you figure something out. I'm buying a different set of camber arms. Lol.
