Oil Price Would Skyrocket if Iran Closed the Strait of Hormuz

If Iran were to follow through with its threat to blockade the Strait of Hormuz, a vital transit route for almost one-fifth of the oil traded globally, the impact would be immediate: Energy analysts say the price of oil would start to soar and could rise 50 percent or more within days.

Oil price drops below $102 a barrel as supplies increase in final week of the year

U.S. oil supplies rose in the last week of 2011, capping a year of weak demand and sending oil prices lower on Thursday.
The Energy Department’s Energy Information Administration said Thursday that U.S. oil supplies swelled by 2.2 million barrels for the week ended Dec. 30. Gasoline supplies increased by 2.5 million barrels in the same period.

ugh....$3.45 for prem. in SC. Just happened to be over that way today. I don't want to know what it is in NC by where I live now.
