does the factory housing get ruined?

the housing is big enough to not get too hot. Im sure the 35 watt ballast will be ok. Not sure about the 55watt ballast

55w is only for headlights with retros. HIDs produce lower temp than halogens.

The only problem with the 55w on stock housing is the glare. Its much worse and very distracting.

The 35 watt is plenty bright on the stock housing. No need to go higher

There are no modifications to the stock housing. Just insert the bulb. They run cooler than halogens as dar-dar mentioned.

I had 5000 on my gti and it was a pure white, and my best friend has 10000 and its pure blue so I wanted to be more white then blue and went with 6000

5000K or 6000K. My dad's Pilot has the 5000K and I think it's the perfect color. I have 6000K and I like it.

I got 5000K. I wanted color to be as close to stock as possible while being brighter and maybe just a little whiter.

Good to know. Is 8000k pretty blue or does it just have a nice tinge of blue? I want a little blue in my headlights
