I have a Samsung 46" LCD that is 1080p & 120 Hz. I think it is spectacular to see, and has never let me down in the 3+ years I've used it.

Certainly an LED would be nicer, and 240 Hz would offer slightly better dynamic response, but not necessary IMO.
 
Sweet, I wanna make that blueray look better to maybe a 3dtv? Have you used one of those
 
do you picture yourself wearing glasses to watch tv? How about all of your guests?
 
I'm not for 3d either I think the LCD led or just LCD is the way to go.
 
LEDs are pretty crisp in terms of image quality and don't heat up.
 
I get a pretty good discount with Panasonic so I might have to look at theres some more
 
How much sunlight does the room have? Viewing angles wide..or straight on? Plasma units are regarded as the best for wider viewing, and also the best in rooms with windows/natural light. If those things aren't issues I'd go view TVs in person for side by side comparison.

What he said, plus how far away is your sitting area away from the TV...

I have a 52 inch Toshiba and have loved the last 3 years with it..
