Gerry Rubin, whose Rubin Postaer and Associates advertising agency has partnered with Honda Motor Co. for nearly four decades, will be inducted into the American Advertising Federation's Advertising Hall of Fame.

Rubin, 72, co-founded Rubin Postaer and Associates in 1986, along with Larry Postaer.
The agency has worked for seven Honda Motor presidents, a release from the agency said.
The "Art Gallery" commercial for the redesigned Accord helped it become the best-selling car in the United States in 1989.

In 1999, Rubin played a large role in the agency's winning of the business on Honda Motor's Acura brand. Rubin also produced the first Web sites for Honda and the agency's digital business, which has grown to more than 100 employees. The agency as a whole employs about 670 people.

Rubin also helped establish RP alpha, representing Honda's regional marketing operations. Rubin, along with six other advertising executives -- including Rance Crain, president of Crain Communications Inc. -- will be inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame at ceremonies on April 29 in New York. Crain Communications is the parent company of Automotive News. The hall of fame has honored 218 advertisers since its inception in 1948.
