The Federal EV Tax Credit Is Dead But Honda’s EV Discount Game Just Got Better

The 2026 Prologue will be available with a rebate worth up to $6,000 for those who finance or lease the new EV through Honda Financial Services. This deal will be available until November 3, and the potential savings don’t stop there.

On top of that, Cars Direct notes the 2026 Prologue will also offer a $3,000 conquest cash incentive for shoppers coming from a competing brand or from another Honda model. Interestingly, Honda has yet to announce final pricing details for the 2026 Prologue.

Currently, the 2025 model is available at 0 percent financing for up to 72 months and includes $9,500 in financing bonuses, in addition to the $7,500 federal EV tax credit. This brings total savings up to $17,000. And that’s not all. Conquest cash offers are also available for the 2025 Prologue, bringing the savings up to $20,300 in some states.

its intriguing at least? Not the most thrilling drive, but an adequate SUV

Similar, a zdx, it drove like a standard mid/large suv, nothing thrilling, but if you want the experience of a ~300hp suv that happens to be electric its not a bad choice. Mostly whats intriguing to me is the sub 200 a month lease deals but id get sick of it bring such a boring daily drive

Sooooo boooooooring looking. I’d rather get the Chevy blazer since they are basically the same thing “on the inside”

Weird, kinda like Rivian. Def not in the market for an ev or really anything but I would wait until the new Rivians come out and go from there.

makes you wonder how much it actually costs manufactures to build a car. or are they losing money on every one?

The used car prices.....wow....$26k with 4 k miles for a base one that gives you 281 miles? can't be mad at that.

I saw an ad at Sams Club where you can get a new one, not sure Elite or not but no the base looking one, for $49k. No clue on financing.....

Every brand would be different, but there have been a lot of articles over ford and their losses on electric vehicles. Look at this:

electric depreciation is no joke, i dont think id buy another because the tech is advancing so much. Leasing new ones seems more appealing

Ford spent a lot of resources in doing the F150 Lightning to get to market first by stuffing motors and batteries into existing truck architecture, it shows in a lot of the problems theyre having. They rushed the Mach E to market too, but its at least a little more purpose built, even though its a mostly decent car its still not great

GM at least developed the whole skateboard style design that let them build something like 15 vehicles off one design, it had (probably still has) issues but im sure their cost per unit is going down

Sounds like Acura is already going to kill the ZDX per some click-bait type reporting online echoed by hondaprojason. Maybe make way for the Prologue to get better market share in the slimmest market?

Prologue is moving super slow off lots which makes the insane deals happen, ZDX i think is a bigger flop than the Prologue because higher price, similar specs unless you go for the Type S, and it is still very Chevy inside both of them. I think it was always Honda’s plan to shift over to their own platform but they had to partner with GM to get EVs to market to meet mandates

Hope they continue to lose money on EV's! Good.

Why so much hate for EVs?
