Yeah, I believe that is below min. wage.
They're just stupid, all of them.
 
Servers normally get around that much around here. With tips, they make much more than bus boys.

$5.00/hour is normal for a waiter/waitress?
That's basically a 3rd World wage. Ya, there are tips, but still. If it's super quiet (bad weather etc.) someone could have to go to get ready, drive to work, and be at the restaurant for 3 hours before being told to go home and then drive back home for a lousy $15..............Shocking.

It may sound ridiculous, but its true. My little brother used to be a bus boy for Joe's Crab Shack and he started at $9/hr. Waiters/waitresses there makes $2/hr. Yes, $2. Servers at IHOP or Friendlys make $4 or $5 an hour.
 
Servers at Joes make more money than servers at IHOP. Lol. They basically make over $12/hr on an average day. Or around $8 or $9 on a terrible day.
 
Is that only for restaurants with mandatory gratuities (no count limit)?
 
Apparently Ramsay is supposed to return in the new season of Kitchen Nightmares
