Live reveal of the 2014 corvette..watch NOW

3:20-3:35 or so of that vid ^ talking about them driving costs down with suppliers so they didn't have to raise pricing over the aluminum frame...

That part scares me, how much of the little stuff did they have to source to China in order to keep the overall margins the same or higher?

Otherwise it's an amazing car, it will be truly stunning on the street.

Starting tomorrow, January 14, Gran Turismo 5 owners will be able to download the new 'Vette for free from the PlayStation Store.

The C7 Corvette has been available in prototype form, complete with form-fitting black camouflage, for over a month in GT5, and the prior six generations of the Corvette are also all available to drive in the game. Now, though, the full Stingray experience will allow gamers to peer at the newest 'Vette in virtual high resolution inside and out, hit 60 miles per hour in under four seconds and pull more than 1g on race tracks all around the world, including the world-famous Nürburgring.

Autonews reports that, for the first time ever, it has put a sales threshold to dealers who want to get the seventh-generation ‘Vette. Dealers who have failed to sell at least four Corvettes in 2012 have been notified since last January that they won’t be getting the 2014 Stingray model, although a GM spokesman denied to comment on the new sports car’s allocation.

Byron Hansen, a Chevrolet dealer in Brigham City, Utah, says: “I don’t anticipate getting the new Corvette this year, and many smaller dealers like me won’t get it either.” Hansen sold just two Corvettes in 2012.

Nice high res pics! If the corvette badges were not there, I would easily assume that the car is a Ferrari. Especially by looking at the front and side shot.

2014 Corvette With Vin 0001 Sells For 1.1 Million

The first retail production model of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ending in 0001 was pre-sold at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale collector car auction on Saturday night for $1.1 million, or more than 20 times the expected MSRP of the base model that will arrive in U.S. showrooms this fall.

The winning bid came from NASCAR team owner and Corvette collector Richard Hendrick, with all proceeds from the sale to benefit the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, known for its automotive design program.
