MMA Talk

I really think Cormier will try to ground and pound Mir. But Mir might be able to submit him.

I see Cormier doing a smarter Brock lesner approach use his world class wrestling to his advantage and beat him up on the ground

I'll say Benson if he puts on a show (decision). I'm a Bendo fan. Lol.

Frank Mir (submission -arm bar or shoulder lock).

Nate Diaz (submission)

Matt Brown (submission). I've seen Brown's fights. He's a good grappler. I haven't seen Mein fight though so this is why I'm going one sided on this one.

Matt Brown put on a great show!!!!
I did not expect Diaz to get mauled by Thomson. Lol. Just wow.
Frank Mir lost bc he didn't try any moves that would go against DC. He just made Cormier control him the whole fight.
I scored the main fight 3 rounds to 2 on Bendo. Melendez won 1st and 5th round. However, I didn't see much from him. All Melendez did was check a few of Benson's kicks and landed a few punches. But Bendo clearly did much more than Melendez.

Congrats to Benson with the win and that proposal was smooth.

Bendo is so boring no wonder why I dont like him hahaha. I'm just happy that Diaz got his A$$ handed to him, hate those brothers

I think Diaz got overwhelmed by the constant switches with the stance.

I don't disagree. Lol.

Lol sorry, I just hate those two haha. Anyways DC came out and just handled Mir, though I was falling asleep at the parts where they were on the cage

That fight was very boring. All they did was lean on the fencing.

At around 0:33, Benson's fiance was going to kiss him. Then he interrupted her. SMOOTH Benson, smooth. :rotfl:

What fighters do you guys like?

Me:

Chael Sonnen - solely because he is a gangster
Jon Jones - love his fighting style, dangerous everywhere
Alexander Gustafsson - The Mauler, need I say more
Michael Bisping - Love his sh!t talking
Anderson Silva - The King
Georges St-Pierre - My favorite fighter
Rory MacDonald - Future of the UFC
Joe Lauzon - Everyone loves them some JLo

Did anybody hear about the interview GSP did recently? He was asked (again) about a fight with Anderson silva instead of talking about Anderson moving to 170 which silva has hinted could be done or talking about a catch weight he answered with "it would be much easier for me to drop to lightweight" I think GSP could possibly be the most intelligent and athletic fighter in MMA all time. Although I can't help but feel like he is ducking this fight to protect his legacy and it kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth it makes me think of him as the mayweather of MMA

I got so distracted I forgot the initial question. I'm a big Anthony petitis fan and I can't wait to watch the match ups at featherweight for him

GSP doesnt cut much weight to make 170 so he's just saying it would be easier to cut to 155 than build to 185

Yeah I get that point of it. But what I'm getting at is the super fight scenario has been getting more realistic the past few months and he chooses now to bring up lightweight? This was a complete curve ball NO ONE expected him to even consider lightweight. But on that note GSP vs Brando or Melendez would be awesome(maybe even Aldo if he moves up?) but the majority of fans want to see the grappler vs striker match that is silva vs GSP and also p4p 1vs 2

“If he wants to make 170, I weigh 170, and he can (come down to) 170, that’s fine,” said St-Pierre.
This is from Joe Rogan's podcast. I dont think GSP is at all considering a move to 155 but he was just making it known that he would rather drop to 155 than raise to 185. Silva says he thinks he can make 170 so GSP will take the fight if Silva drops. But GSP wants to take care of things in his division first, so the superfight will not happen soon if at all

UFC 159 is a day away!
