I do not, but I would likely find that to be more entertaining than what I do now. Currently, I work as a contractor supporting the Army in managing the cybersecurity and authorization of training systems they're having developed. I spent a good amount of time in the world of nuclear energy at various levels; I enjoyed my time doing that for the most part but ultimately decided to find alternative work that I enjoyed more; I'm still trying to determine if that backfired or not.
 
Isn't there "radiation" in granite countertops? I've always heard that but not sure if I cared enough to look up the answer. lol

I remember looking up some stuff, like 8-10 years ago, when I was dealing with some teeth stuff. Had the dentist, orthodontist and oral surgeon each do x-rays on with in a 6 weeks time.
 
I ordered a part for my fridge In October but due to supply issues it didn't ship until last week. It started in Texas and is currently in Germany. Kind of a weird way of shipping something.

Honestly, I haven't heard this one. However, a quick Google search stated that it is possible based on the impurities in the stone itself (trace amounts of radioactive elements, such as uranium and thorium, that can emit radiation and radon gas). But, it is such a minor amount that it would be insignificant to any other naturally existing background radiation (the same exposure you'd see living in the mountains).

The one that everyone always joked about was the radiation found naturally in bananas due to potassium-40. Doesn't stop anyone from eating bananas. :rotfl:

I didn’t have my nuclide chart available to go thru the whole decay chain. Way to go!
 
I just found out that the acuity cai for the 9th gen has been discontinued. But acuity still makes and sells replacement parts as well as other parts for the 9th gen. I wonder why they did that.

9th gen has been out of production for 10yrs at this point; sales are likely in decline so they want to shift focus to newer models and sell off what's left of their inventory. Just simple business really. At least that is my guess.

My rule of thumb for the 8 years I worked on liquid metal breeder design -don’t boil the coolant. “There be dragons!” Positive void coefficients make for an explosive surprise.

We were okay as we didn’t go above 650F to the 981F boiling point because the fuel and cladding would go eutectic and we’d lose “coolable configuration” before we boiled that metal coolant.
 
ahh I thought you were trying to locate one. I don't really know if they'd even have that in stock, but the price :bleh:
 
I only have have a 10 min drive to work these days I decided to charge my battery for half the day. Went to drive it back to my parking spot and the charging system warning is on the dash. Alternator isn't charging.
Ended up being a bad connection at the battery terminals apparently. Super stressful. I saved Christmas.
