My Maintence reminder?

I now have about 29,500 miles on my 2012 ex Coupe.
According to my dealer I'm suppose to bring it in every 5,000 miles to have it serviced.
My Imid every time I turn the key on says I'm about due; due; now over due.
My question is, why if I still have 500 miles to go. Shouldn't the miles be calculated with the rest of the input that determines when to give me notice. I've never gotten warning before and I always wait till I'm right at the 5000 mile mark before making an appointment.
Manually, there's nothing wrong with my car, I'm watching the oil(all ways do, never trust any thing but what I see), level been ok color is light gold(use Honda's oil).
Also, I'm wondering about how to stop the service warning(just tied of having to hit another button at start up).

Are you just wanting the prompt to go away from the imid? You could reset it, to make it think you've done the service?

Yeh! I was just thinking about resetting imid, I know there's nothing that needs checking, and I will be going in for 30k service shortly anyway, the imid has been doing this for 2,500 miles now(progressively "due soon"; Due now; over due. It's bothering my "OCD" mainly, because I know there's nothing wrong with it.
Guess I can dig though my manual and see how to re-set it.........

it says it goes by how you drive the car, and I think a few other things. and some things it goes by mileage like your spark plugs coolant etc. but to reset it just hit menu on the steering wheel go to vehicle info then maintenance info and just hit the center button to reset it.

While on the topic of vehicle maintenance, I was contemplating just going ahead and getting my 30k service done, today on Friday near the end of the month. Well, I'm not a big believer in getting things like this done on certain days, or dates. Like never on Mondays, or Fridays, or the end of the month, basically any day that people aren't as prone to doing their best job. these days that I mentioned are days I've seen reported as a negative percentage day, because the person doing the work usually have their minds/bodies out of sync, because of coming off a weekend, or the day before getting off for the weekend, same for holidays and vacations.
So looking at the weather forecast, and Christmas/NY coming up, I took a drive to my dealer(they have been great so far).
I pull up to the drive-in bays(2), where we are suppose to drive in and stay in the car to a rep. comes up to ask what we want, there were 3 cars in the left bay and none in the right, so I pulled in the right, and after the reps took care of the 1st 3 cars, I was expecting one to come to my car, which they didn't, instead they stood around shooting the sheet, so I took it as a omen and pulled out of the bay and went for a drive, then came home. I'll just wait till after NY's and go back somewhere on a middle of the week day.
