New here, considering a 2014 SI

How's it going guys? My name is Michael, and I'm considering converting from Nissan, to Honda. I've had a 2005 Sentra since, well, 2005. Been saving up some spare cash for the past little bit, and now I'm looking at cars. Originally I was looking for a 2007-09 SI, but I quickly found out those are hard to find stock. Or at least around my area they are. I have a friend who works at a local Honda dealership, and I've been talking with him about finding a car. With no luck, he mentioned to me today leasing a new SI. I had never thought about this, and honestly leasing scares me. But with my down payment, he said I could walk out in a new one for $200-225/month, for 3 years. After understanding what all is involved with a lease, I'm now seriously considering it. Does that seem like a reasonable monthly payment for leasing a new SI?

Look forward to hearing some input from other owners.

Just for fun, here is my Sentra:

First off welcome to the forum!

I've leased my last few cars so feel free to ask as many questions as you want. I'm sure the group here should be able to answer your questions.

I put no money down on my car and I'm around the $360 a month range. I'm in Canada though so we pay quite a bit more than in the US.

Good luck. Spend some time here and I'm sure you'll be convinced. It's an awesome car.

welcome!

personally i could never lease a car because im the kind that NEEDS to work on my car but it is what it is

If you're planning to keep the car stock, then leasing will be fine. If you're looking to do mods to it though, you may want to consider buying it outright.
Either way, you definitely won't be sorry.

...well, your Nissan will be sorry you dropped her for a younger girl.

......and just to add to what @jasonandre said, I normally stick to mods that I can remove before I return the car. You can always sell whatever you added. The dealers generally don't mind tint, or any Honda accessory of course.

After sleeping on it, I don't think leasing a car is the way I want to go. I actually found a 2009 White, 4 door SI locally that I'm going to look at here shortly. It has a little higher miles, but apparently it was all highway miles. I'm taking my friend with my who has been a Honda technician for around 10 years to look it over. If they come down on the price a little depending on condition, I may pick it up. Besides, I like the styling of the older Civics a little better than the new ones personally.
