Hey guys,

To be completely honest I know pretty much nothing on how or what parts you need to start moding the suspension. I have the 2012 SI and was wondering if anyone can give me a run down on what you would need, price ranges, and suggestions on what to get. My car is a daily driver.

Thanks again

Well, Im no "EXPERT" but it depends on what you want. If you get Coilovers, you can adjust the ride height as you please. If you get springs, your stuck with your stance. Webby put together a whole list of suspension mods for our cars. lemme look that up really quickly

Thanks Dutch! I just saw a bunch of stuff on the forums about the sway bar and ect. I just really dont know what all that is any im trying to understand it more. Also other than the ride being a bit rougher are there cons of getting aftermarket suspensions parts?

A swaybay will drastically improve handling. Cons on suspension depends on how low you go.. You can be cracking oil pans or you can stay at a reasonable height and gain some cornering advantage over stock. But the ride is definitely harsher. This is my first lowered car and it gets pretty bumpy due to the crappy streets of NYC.

That looks really good! Any issues with them so far? For the actual install you just replaced the stock springs and nothing else right?

Hold up there...... Better after market suspension doesn't mean it has to be "stiffer"..... a good set-up for the purpose of handling is to have the tyres stick to the ground no matter what it rolls overs, if anything it will seem/be softer....... A rear sway bar doesn't effect the up/down motion of the shocks and springs, it keeps the car more level while going around a corner, set to the correct thickness for your car....... In lies telling us what you want from your car, the knowledgeable peeps on here that have mod'ed their cars that want what you want can tell you what they did for theirs.

and no probs! you can also ask questions about peoples set-ups on the official lowered sedans (or coupes) thread.
And thanks! yeah i just switched out the springs. Other setups (like SKunk2) tells you to cut the bumps stops so just do your research before purchasing so you know what your getting into

Thanks for the info guys ill check out that thread and see if I find what im looking for :)
