What I found most irritating about need for speed was the traffic. The car placement is not random (although the frequency somewhat is) - they basically place traffic in the most likely place to cause a collision and thus knock you out of the race. After this happens a couple dozen times per race X nearly every race you participate in, it gets extraordinarily frustrating. It's often nothing to do with skill to beat a race any more - it's just luck that you didn't get a car generated in the middle of your turn that round. I'll take a driving simulator over a cheap and frustrating arcade game any day.

I agree. I've watched a few vids including the first 57mins of the game and traffic does suck. I would like to participate in a real cross country race. :driving:
